Winter in Gastein

High Alpine piste experiences and guaranteed snow until the end of April

The winter sports region of Gastein is one of the largest and most beautiful ski areas in the province of Salzburg and is renowned for its diversity.

Over 200 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes for all levels of proficiency await skiers, snowboarders and freeriders. The ski circuit in the Salzburger Land connects the Schlossalm, the Angertal and the Stubnerkogel, enabling you to get to know three ski areas in one day and take full advantage of the attractive range of pistes and cool ski huts during your ski holiday in Gastein.

A ski bus stop directly in front of the Hotel BLÜ in Bad Hofgastein takes you to the valley station of the Schlossalmbahn in just a few minutes. From here, it's "non-stop to the top" to the summit. Just imagine the feeling when you are the first to arrive at the summit in the early morning, with the Gastein valley below you veiled in the early morning mist. The first rays of sunshine kiss your smiling face, and you have the pistes all to yourself! Blue, red, or black pistes are yours to choose from, just as you please in your ski holidays, and can. An absolute highlight is the "Hohe Scharte Nord" downhill run on the Schlossalm. With over 10 kilometres and a difference in altitude of 1457 metres, the longest downhill run in Salzburger Land provides plenty of fun on the slopes. It will make your heart blossom.

Ski amadé in Salzburger Land has developed a new online early booking system for ski passes. In concrete terms, this means: check and book the ski pass prices online now, then you have the chance to secure tickets at the best price. "Old school" skiing on the Graukogel

A further insider tip is the Graukogel, the so-called "retro mountain" of the Gastein people. A rustic, cosy two-person chairlift takes you up to about 2000 metres above sea level. On many days of the season, you have the only natural snow mountain in the region entirely to yourself. Here, long, wide, partially challenging pistes with a length of 14 kilometres await you on your skiing holiday in Bad Hofgastein. The majority of these pistes are sheltered from the wind by dense woodlands.
