Twilight over mountain panorama

BLÃœsider No.1

Enjoy sunrise on the Gamskarkogel

The Gamskarkogelhütte is one of the oldest mountain huts located between Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein on the highest grass mountain in Europe. Spending the night there and experiencing the sunrise at over 2000 metres above sea level while enjoying a delicious summit breakfast is one of the absolute "must-sees" on a Gastein holiday.

A feast of Schmarren on the Poserhöhe

The Poserhöhe can be reached from Bad Hofgastein via the Planitzengut. Not only do you have a 360-degree panorama view, but you can also enjoy the best Kaiserschmarren in the world (and we have already tried many!). It comes with home-picked cranberries and a cool blackberry juice, homemade in the rustic parlours. After your meal, you can relax in the deckchairs with a view of the mountains.

At lofty heights bathing in the wild

There is no shortage of places to cool down in our valley: mountain lakes and streams are rushing out at almost every turn. For instance, the well-known Reedsee, nestled in the high Alpine Tischlergruppe in the Kötschachtal, the upper Bockhartsee in Sportgastein which offers an incredible long-range view of the three-thousand-metre peaks of the region, or the two Paarseen in Dorfgastein.

For those who prefer things a little wilder, hop into a cool stream. You can either walk along the path to the waterfall in the direction of the Annencafé, in the beautiful Angertal valley or along the path to the Astenalm pastures, where you can enjoy some excellent "Bauernkrapfen" (farmer's doughnuts).

Your holiday in the mountains is already beckoning - all it takes is for you to send us a non-binding enquiry!
