The BLÜ is the new Alpine casual hotel in the Gastein Valley. Dedicated to personal freedom, enjoyment and everything and anything that is not related to everyday life. The BLÜ is the most relaxed anchor point for all the adventures that the Gastein Valley offers. Urban lifestyle and design in the heart of the mountains.
Hotel Blü is situated in a prominent location - in the middle of Kaiser-Franz-Platz in the pedestrian zone of Bad Hofgastein, the "main square" of the charming market town with around 7,000 inhabitants. The ski bus (bus stop directly in front of the hotel) takes you to the nearby new Schlossalmbahn in Gastein in winter. In summer, you can enter the heavenly natural landscape around Hofgastein "behind the house".
With the "Tree House", a completely new hotel wing is being created, where both free spirits and lovers of interior design will feel very much at home. The tree house offers space for 30 contemporary and very casually designed double rooms in the categories "BLÜ Wow", "BLÜ Moon", and "BLÜ Cool".
There are stylish single and double rooms in the categories "BLÜ Small" and "BLÜ Grand" in the main building. Most of the rooms have balconies.
The BLÜ Bar, located directly on Kaiser-Franz-Platz, is pulsating with life for guests and locals alike.
A quick caffè al banco in passing, a glass of prosecco with friends after a mountain tour, a fine beer from the local brewery or perfectly mixed drinks to accompany a jazz concert or DJ set - there is a place for everything here. In addition, the BLÜ restaurant offers fine dining. It combines regional cuisine with influences from the far corners of the world. Those staying at the BLÜ on a half-board holiday can, true to the motto "Bin so frei" (I'm so free), indulge in an à la carte meal at any time of the day in the restaurant. Start each day with all sorts of delicacies and breakfast classics. There is an extensive vegetarian selection.
If you want to take it easy for a while, HimmelBLÜ is the perfect location. The rooftop spa is located here and the "Freiraum", where you can really get into the "yoga flow" above the rooftops of Hofgastein with a view of the Gastein mountains. The HimmelBLÜ Garden, which takes the classic cottage garden to a new level, awaits you next door.
The perfect base for all your active adventures in the Gastein Valley, the BLÜ is naturally equipped with a ski and bike room. And for those who like to work up a sweat indoors, the BLÜ has a small fitness area.

Art lovers also get their money's worth: gallery owner Josefine Wagner regularly organises an Art Corner from the "Galerie Raum mit Licht".

The new BLÜ is an open, casual meeting place for everybody. A place where you can come together with like-minded and different people. Eco-friendly travel to Blü: This is easy and comfortable. You can get to Gastein from Vienna, Linz, Salzburg or Munich, Würzburg, Frankfurt and other cities without changing trains. Blü goes one step further. Travelling green and saving money at the same time – a clear win-win situation à la Blü. From May 2023, the new “Rail Rate” can be booked – travel by public transport and enjoy the benefits. The rate can also be booked for one night or more and includes the unique Blü half-board. On request also bookable with breakfast only. Please show your train ticket on arrival. (The Rail Rate is only available for direct bookings)
The rooms can be occupied from 15:00 hrs on the day of arrival - on departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11:00 hrs. If a late arrival or early departure, the daily rate minus € 22,- will be charged. Late check-out (subject to availability) is possible for € 10,- per hour.
To fix your reservation, we require a deposit as per the booking confirmation.

In principle, the cancellation conditions of the Austrian Hotel Regulations apply:
Cancellation is free of charge up to 30 days before the agreed arrival date
From 29 days to 7 days before arrival 70% cancellation fee
From 6 days to the day of arrival 90% cancellation fee
Prepayment: We ask for a 25% prepayment to guarantee your booking. In case of a cancellation until 30 days prior to arrival, you can choose between: a voucher with the full amount of the prepaid amount or a refund to your bank account (We keep 5% of the prepaid amount as transaction fee).

No doubt you are looking forward to your holiday. Still, several things can occur before you arrive and during the holiday! We recommend that you take out a travel cancellation insurance policy to avoid cancellation costs.

Naturally, the health and safety of our guests and our team are always our top priority. Therefore, we have developed an individual protection and hygiene concept for the Hotel BLÜ. With the clear objective that we all come through these challenging times as unscathed as possible.
Dogs aren’t just allowed at the Hotel Blü - they are welcome! Our own hotel dog “Poldi” is always happy to welcome furry friends at her place. We charge a fee of 15€ per day for your pet and offer dog beds (various sizes) and bowls. In addition we also offer “Dog Meals” in different variations: (Petit wet food, Doglove dry food or cooked meat with rice and vegetables fresh from our kitchen (7€ per portion).
